So this week has been really awesome! Yesterday Valery got a calling, she is going to be a Branch Missionary! Perfect calling for her because she already always comes out with us all the time. And also Joaquin got the Holy Ghost which was amazing as well!

This week we found some really awesome people! We found a family of 7 and they are the most adorable things I've ever seen. There's 5 kids all under the age of 12 and they just sit at our feet all quite and listen to us every time that we come. Last time one of the older boys agreed to say the prayer after we had just talked about how families can be together forever and he said, "bless that my family can be together forever." It was the cutest thing. We are excited for them!

Also Brenda, the one that I met the first night that I got to this area, we had an amazing lesson with her this week. After we taught her we asked her if she had prayed and thought more about baptism. She said that she received a strong impression that she needs to get baptized! Now her husband is just in the process of trying to find another job so that he doesn't have to work sundays and that he can come to! Milagros!

I am being so blessed in this area it is absolutely amazing. We have so many great investigators that are progressing and it just makes me so happy. I love this area and this an is an absolutely great time of my mission.

Have a very merry Christmas and spend some time with your family!

Okay everyone I probably start off every email like this but I am not
lying to you when I say that this week was AMAZING! Seriously so full
of miracles and I have just been so happy and seriously so so grateful
for all the things that I am experiencing and all the people I am
meeting here in Virginia.

So first of all. Joaquin got baptized!! Woohooo!! It was an amazing
service, the spirit was so strong and tons of people came. TONS! He
gave his testimony at the end and it was amazing to hear. He talked
about the change that he has seen in his family since they have
started meeting with the missionaries and going to church. He talked
about how before that he never wanted to go home because he didn't
like how it felt there and it didn't feel like a family. He then
talked about how now everything is different! He loves going home and
spening time with his family, there is a different feel in the home,
and they do family prayers together! Seriously a complete 180 with
what I have seen with this family! It is insane. So happy for Joaquin.
He has SOO much faith, it's unbelievable.

Another amazing thing we did this week, is we had a lesson in the
mission home with President Smith and Sister Smith! Ya you heard me!
So so crazy! He offered because he already knew Joaquin and he wanted
to meet the family and it was amazing. The spirit was so strong and it
was a super fun night and the family loved it! I love how involved
President Smith is in the lives of us missionaries. It is seriously
amazing! Miracles were seen that night!

We had the oppurtunity this week as two zones to sing at our Stake
Presidents mothers funeral. Really really sad his mother was amazing
and one of the most Christlike people I have ever met and the stake
president is the same. All the missionaries love serving in this stake
because he puts such an emphasis on missionary work. Every week we do
our own mini cordination with the ZL, and the STLs and ZLs in the
other zone. He asks us about people at church and ways that he can
help. He knows a ton of the investigators too! It really is amazing!
But the funeral was beautiful and she was so loved. The missionaries
sang the EFY  medly and they spirit was so so strong.

The month of December I am really trying to understand the Atonement
more. The Atonement is really the only way that we get better. This
week we got roomates and I'm not going to lie becuase some other
sisters had bed bugs in their house so we had to give them our study
room, my closet, my bathroom and becuase the desks were in their room
those too and we thought that would be easiest anyway. Well to be
honest at first I was like wait wait wait I do not want to give up
those things. But then I realized how selfishly I was thinking, I went
into the room and knelt down and prayed. I prayed for forgiveness and
I prayed that I would be able to change. I just want to tell you all
that even though that might seem like a small things, I did feel a
change and I am so so grateful for the Atonement in my life and the
chance that it gives me to get better and to become more like Christ.

Well first off so I am getting transferred:( Sad to leave Henrico but also excited for a change! This week has also been kind of an interesting week because we had some crazy things happen that made us have to stay inside for a day and also my comp got sick and we had to stay inside and also we had to stay inside for a big chunk of the day New Year's Eve.... so not a ton happened! But it was still a good week!

I decided I wanted to share a little miracle story that happened a couple weeks ago that I never shared. So me and Hermana Fischbeck went to chick Fil a during dinner hour one time to use the wifi, we were just sitting there and this guy kept staring at us.... a little while later he came up and he said, "I didn't even need to see your name tags I knew when you walked in here that you were Mormon missionaries. I still remember the names of the elders that taught me 30 years ago and I want to pay for your dinner" and then he just put a 20 on the table. I was like, "are you a member??" He's not but he then talked about how those elders he had met with had really helped him in a difficult time and that he was never going to forget how he felt when he went to church and met with them. Wow! He went on to say he didn't really know why he had stopped meeting with them but he said maybe is the time to start again with his family(he's now married with a little boy). So we referred him over to the elders and he is meeting with them!

It was just a really cool little miracle that we randomly went into chick Fil a one day for like 5 minutes and ran into this man who still remembered the missionaries from a long long time ago. We might not have recognized the fact that we went to chick Fil a as a spiritual prompting but I know that there was a reason that we were led there. That is something I have really been thinking about this week is following spiritual promptings, its a cool gift that we have been given the Holy Ghost, but just like any other skill we have to practice it and work hard to know how to be able to follow it. I'm still working on it but I know I've gotten a ton better. I've seen how the lord guides this work and guides His missionaries, so I know it's true.  The Lord loves His missionaries and takes care of them.
15 And it shall be given thee from the time thou shalt go, until the time thou shalt return, what thou shalt do. (D&C 28:15)
